On Sunday, the women’s field of cyclists will line up at the start in Frauenfeld. In the town of 25,000 inhabitants, the cyclists are tested over 10 laps. The heart of the town of Frauenfeld lay from around 1230 onwards on a rectangle of land 250m × 110m known as “unserer lieben Frauen Feld” (Our Lady’s Field), a field dedicated to the Mother of God; a plateau that slopes steeply down to the Thur in the west and to the south in a rocky drop towards Murg.
