Chur is the oldest city in Switzerland and an ideal starting point for discovery tours in the canton of Grisons (Graubünden). The picturesque old town, the wide range of cultural and gastronomic offerings, a cableway from the city center directly into the mountain experience as well as incomparable train journeys with the Rhaetian Railway make a stay in Chur unique and unforgettable.

The vibrant capital with historical roots is nestled in a magnificent landscape. Chur is the cultural centre of Graubünden, the seat of the bishop and the oldest city in Switzerland. Numerous boutiques, restaurants, bars, museums and galleries create an almost Mediterranean flair in its entirely car-free old town. As the hub of the Rhaetian Railway, famous holiday resorts such as Davos, St. Moritz and Arosa are accessible from Chur, as are the world-famous panoramic routes of the Glacier Express and Bernina Express. And the local mountain Brambrüesch with its “Bike Kingdom” can be reached directly from the city centre by cableway. Downhillers can expect a top offer at the Alpenbikepark Chur with its five marked trails. With its enduro and cross-country tours, Brambrüesch is Chur’s bike mountain par excellence anyway. Due to the low altitude and the mild climate, in Chur there is biking season almost all year round.
